Experience Summary

Maria F. LaBruna

I'm an intuitive, self-motivated, and curious engineer with a demonstrated technical aptitude, drawn to the apex of design, engineering, and people. I graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. While at school, I became a founding member of Northeastern's Electric Racing (Formula SAE) where I spearheaded the design of our vehicle’s steering system and grew the club's presence through fundraising, recruiting, and marketing. I explored the defense industry through my role as a Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op at Communication and Power Industries (CPI).  Following graduation, I expanded my technical foundation as a Propulsion Engineer for SpaceX's Falcon 9 Program. As a Responsible Engineer on the Stage Propulsion (3yrs) and Valves & Components (1yr) teams, I owned end-to-end fluid system design, hardware qualification, and full lifecycle support from build through flight operations

I have enhanced my technical education by developing complementary skills in non-technical design and communications. My past work encompasses a range of experiences including new product introduction, CAD, developing digital marketing content, and interfacing with clients. As an engineer, I am passionate about innovative technologies specifically in the aerospace and automotive industries.
